Trailer Inspiration
Winter's Bone (2010):
This film inspired our trailer as it follows the story of a young girl and her siblings, who try to find their neglectful parent. The aspect and idea of a neglectful parent inspired us to use this within our own trailer to further establish the reasons for our main female protagonist turning to prostitution and protesting.
In Headlights:
This trailer is another coursework piece from a few years ago however follows the same sort of idea that we plan to do. We chose some shots that we thought were interesting and show the theme of prostitution without being explicit, for example a man grabbing her hand and pulling her away with him, as this shows vulnerability of the protagonist. This trailer inspired parts of our idea as well as they included an ill father figure that the young girl had to look after, we adapted this in our own piece but have a neglectful father character that the female protagonist wants to get away from.
Three Girls:
The story of this trailer and BBC drama, helped with the depiction of young girls in the situation of being prostituted and how they are treated by others, which we plan to show through a protest against violence, slut-shaming and the treatment of girls and women. We are also inspired by the last three shots of the girls looking directly at the camera, breaking the fourth wall, with speech used over the top and plan to use something similar in our own piece. However, we intend to have our protagonist speaking at the same time, instead or as well as a voice over being heard from another character.

London to Brighton:
The trailer for this film inspired our use of an underage girl. Although in 'London to Brighton' the girl is a lot younger than legal age, we are using someone who is legal, just not a consenting adult yet as she will have just turned 16 and say she is 18. We were also inspired by the makeup and costumes used within this trailer, for example the bright red lipstick that can make the young female protagonist look older, as well as the outfit for the other woman with her and intend to use similar costuming for our version of this type of character.s
