BBFC Certificate Rating

We decided that the BBFC rating of our trailer, and film, would be 15. 

This is due to our film showing sexual scenes, due to theme of prostitution, however we would not go into full detail or make sexual activities fully shown. 

We plan to follow the British Board of Film Classification and its guidelines for a 15 rated film. For example, nudity is allowed however in context and moderation. We do not intend to show any nudity in the trailer, however there would be some in the rest of the film and will be seen in sexual context, yet it will not be used or shown in strong or explicit detail. Due to the theme of prostitution, there will be sexual content in both the trailer and the film however this will also not be put into strong and explicit detail, in the trailer specifically, it will only be implied. We also intend to use strong language in the rest of the film, due to the social realism genre of it, however again they would not be heard consistently and would be in moderation. There would also be references to threat and violence as the female protagonist is in poverty and home and retreats to going into prostitution to get money, which then leads her to get into violent situations with different people throughout. This would be physical violence however there would be no gore or brutality to it. There would be verbal references to sexual violence and the depiction of sexual violence would be discreet and justified by context.
