Reflection of AS - Ten Aspects

What I intend to do when continuing to A2

Costume and Props - During A2, along with my coursework group, I intend to pay more attention to detail when considering both costume and props for our trailer. To do this I will do more research into genre and the types of props that may be seen in the genre I intend to incorporate. Also, to achieve a more professional outcome of the final project, I will make sure that any props are made properly and well, whilst trial and error-ing different ways in order to find the most efficient and best looking one to use in the final trailer. This can also allow more props to be used and make the genre more obvious.

Sound and Lighting - In order to improve the sound and lighting used within year 12, I will ensure that I research a lot more into more detail depending on the genre that my coursework group decide on. By watching example trailers a lot more I will be able to incorporate the types of lighting and sound scores as well as effects that are commonly used in both types of trailer helping both research as well as the creation of the final trailer.

Organisation - In order to improve this next year, I will make sure that filming days are all organised at the same time and in a discussion with the whole group, ensuring that everyone works together. This will also ensure that everyone is there for every filming day that is needed and also to organise days to meet as a group out of school to discuss ideas and what we need to do next.

Genre - When researching this next year, I intend to look at more full products and film examples as well as their theatrical and teaser trailers in order to fully portray aspects of the chosen genre within my group. This will allow me to gain a better understanding of how the genre is depicted and shown the easiest, in order to do this in the final project in year 13 to it's full extent.

 Story-boarding - When story-boarding at A2 level, I intend to make sure it is done and used properly as this was not done as efficiently during year 12 planning and filming days. This will then ensure that we can film faster and film exactly as my coursework group intended and decided all together.

Final Theatrical Poster Ideas

These are the top two posters as part of the promotion package for our film: We chose this poster as it fits with the conventions of real media products and the addition of film festivals compared to the other posters adds a level of authority. The image chosen shows a young girl smoking, immediately making the audience question the film and bringing about themes of innocence and vulnerability as well as harsh themes. The title of the film is bold and a lot bigger than the rest and the poster contains credits, making it look professional. We also chose this poster as one of the top two as it highly inspired by the 'London to Brighton' poster and follows the same format as the theatrical poster for the film. The fragmented images give the audience some ideas of the action and the scenes that are seen in both the trailer and the film.
